The Big Pilot Collection from IWC is a timeless classic. It features an IWC-manufactured 52110-calibre movement, Pellaton automatic winding system with parts made from black or white ceramic, and two barrels that build up a reserve of 7 days. The display at “3 o’clock” indicates the time remaining until the movement comes to a stop, while the date display is located at “6 o’clock” and the central seconds are essential for flying. This 46-millimetre case is water resistant to 6 bar and also contains a soft-iron inner case which protects the watch’s movement against magnetic fields. It is further complemented with a striking conical crown that has been inspired by Junkers JU-52 aircrafts. Reference IW5026-09 is a specimen of the collection.

The 2016 update brought some modern touches to this collection such as improved dial design and enhanced legibility, larger Arabic numerals, new hands with luminescent material for increased visibility in darkness, improved date disc for more clarity, and now it can be ordered in stainless steel or titanium versions.
